Semantic Designs DMS SRT

چکیده

Semantic Designs champions the view that software engineers typically maintain code, when a more valuable approach would be maintaining the design concepts, the implementation steps and the relation between the two that led to the creation of the code. The Design Maintenance System Software Reengineering Toolkit (DMS SRT) is capable of automating the capture, analysis and transformation of low-level specifications and implementation steps, focusing on the code and background implementation knowledge required for any particular project. As a tool created to support the Semantic Designs vision, the SRT is capable of automated document extraction, source code pretty-printing, test code coverage and metric extraction tools, as well as strong support for general automated reengineering up to and including application migrations This enables the impact of changes to the software to be predicted and accurately modelled prior to any alterations being made, and greatly reduces the risks of enterprise software projects. The SRT is supported by a rich and extensive list of languages and grammars, and is flexible enough to prove a valuable developer tool for modifying enterprise mainframe applications.

Effects of spaced retrieval training on semantic memory in Alzheimer’s disease: a systematic review.

PURPOSE This article reports on a systematic review and meta-analysis of the effects of spaced retrieval training (SRT) on semantic memory in people with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) or related disorder. METHOD An initial systematic database search identified 454 potential studies. After screening and de-duplication, 35 studies that used SRT with the population of interest remained. The authors u...

Breaking the Software Development Roadblock: Continuous Software Enhancement By Design Maintenance

The software development paradigm propounded by Semantic Designs, Inc. envisions a design-centric perspective rather than today’s all too prevalent code-centric viewpoint. The Design Maintenance vision mandates notions of design and designing that are both formal and practicable. Our notion of a formal design entails three interrelated parts: specification (the artifact’s functionality and perf...

Exploiting semantic aspects to evolve a text-based search on a legacy document management system

Semantic technologies provide the means to create a more efficient human-computer interaction. In this paper we showcase how to use semantic technologies in the design of a Document Management System (DMS) to re-engineer a legacy DMS using a text-based search. Due to the historical growth of the database, a text-based search without using domain knowledge delivers bloated result-sets that preve...

Exploiting tourism destinations' knowledge in an RDF-based P2P network

Destination Management Systems (DMS) is a perfect application area for Semantic Web and P2P technologies since tourism information dissemination and exchange are the key-backbones of tourism destination management. DMS should take advantage of P2P technologies and semantic web services, interoperability, ontologies and semantic annotation. RDF-based P2P networks allow complex and extendable des...

How Well Do Distributional Models Capture Different Types of Semantic Knowledge?

In recent years, distributional models (DMs) have shown great success in representing lexical semantics. In this work we show that the extent to which DMs represent semantic knowledge is highly dependent on the type of knowledge. We pose the task of predicting properties of concrete nouns in a supervised setting, and compare between learning taxonomic properties (e.g., animacy) and attributive ...
